BREAKOUT WEST ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE 2014 WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC AWARDS

Del Barber takes home both Songwriter of the Year and Solo Roots Recording of the Year while Royal Canoe nabs Independent Album of the Year. Imaginary Cities picks up the award for Pop Recording of the Year and Said The Whale brings home Rock Reading of the Year. Other winners include Federal Lights, Shad, Moses Mayes, Codie Prevost, All Else Fails, Jim Brenan and more.


THE 2014 WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The 2014 Western Canadian Music Awards were presented tonight at Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg, MB during BreakOut West 2014.  Hosted by Grant Lawrence of CBC, The Gala saw stunning performances from many of the award winners including Federal Lights, marijosée, Del Barber, Pigeon Hole, Ron Paley, and Fred Penner who was this year’s inductee into the Western Canadian Music Hall Of Fame.  The winners of 2014 Western Canadian Music Awards are listed below:

THE 2014 WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

On Saturday October 4 at a very special awards gala in Winnipeg the 2014 Western Canadian Music Industry Award winners were announced. The event included performances by The Sojourners and The Bros. Landreth. Ron Paley received the 2014 Heritage Award and the 2014 Industry Builder was awarded posthumously to Manitoba’s great music champion, Kevin Walters. Announced yesterday, in a moving tribute from J.P. Ellson, from here on in this award will be called The Kevin Walters Industry Builder Award.
