BreakOut West 2025 returns to Winnipeg, Manitoba! This year’s event will feature four days of informative and engaging music industry conference content, including international market deep-dives, one-on-one meetings with music industry professionals, artist mentorship and feature conversations, networking events, and more. To get you excited to make important industry introductions at BreakOut West we wanted to introduce four international delegates you can meet this September.

Sami Omar – UP2STNDRD

As a creative across several art forms, I have gained a vast amount of experience building platforms that empower artists and amplify underrepresented voices. As the founder of UP2STNDRD and Icon Music Publishing, I’ve dedicated my career to breaking down barriers in Scotland’s Hiphop music scene, creating opportunities for emerging talent, and encouraging a more collaborative approach among grass roots organisations. My work focuses on guiding artists to navigate the music industry through focused development initiatives, encompassing both creative and professional growth. My recent project ‘Scheme Politiks’, a short film visual album, enabled me to expand my work and delve into the word of film making. This intersection of music and film has provided me with a broader perspective on the current landscape of the arts across those disciplines and the evolution of hybrid projects.

Sebastian Mair – Music Solutions

Sebastian Mair is a co-founder of Music Solutions and has established himself as a leader in the Asian music industry since relocating from Toronto to Tokyo in 1996. Before co-founding Music Solutions, he served as a Cultural Officer at the Embassy of Canada in Japan.
