FACTOR - Live Performance Program

How Much?

Up to $5000 available annually for ‘‘Artist General’ for ‘domestic showcase.’ You can receive $800 plus $100 per additional member (up to 8 members).

Who is eligible?

All artists can apply for the ‘Showcase Support’ component.

How do I apply?

Artists must have a reviewed profile within FACTOR.

Deadlines

Rolling annually. Application must be submitted at least one day prior to the start of the trip. You can apply multiple times per year up to the funding maximum.

FACTOR - Marketing Program

How Much?

$15,000 available for domestic touring.

Who is eligible?

‘Artist 2’ and ‘Artist 3,’ ‘Artist General’ can apply for the ‘Tour Support’ component along with a successful Juried Sound Recording application. Note that you cannot claim your showcase expenses with both the ‘Tour Support’ component or the Marketing Program or JSR and the Live Performance Program at the same time.

How do I apply?

Artists must have a reviewed profile within FACTOR.

Canada Council for the Arts - Arts Across Canada

How Much?

  • 300 km (minimum) – 500 km: up to $1,000 max. per person
  • 501 km – 1000 km: up to $1,250 max. per person
  • 1001 km – 2000 km: up to $1,750 max. per person
  • 2001 km – 3000 km: up to $2,250 max. per person
  • 3001 km – 5000 km or more: up to $3,250 max. per person

Who is eligible?

A validated profile with Canada Council is required to apply. (Note that it can several weeks for your profile to be validated. Don’t hesitate to contact them directly to explain that you have a showcase opportunity. They are helpful and encouraging!) Artists and organizations who receive core operating grants are still eligible to apply.

Alberta

Alberta Foundation for the Arts - Music Individual Project

Up to $15,000 to support the project.

Who is eligible?

Albertan residents who have lived in Alberta for a full year before applying, and live in the province for at least six months per year.

How do I apply?

  • be an adult resident of Edmonton for at least one year (or) be a non-profit organization registered in the Province of Alberta for at least one year
  • not be in arrears with the City of Edmonton at the time of application
  • have no overdue Edmonton Arts Council final reports

Who is eligible?

Professional Development grants assist professional artists, cultural practitioners, production and technical personnel, and arts administrators with specific, short-term learning activities or opportunities to advance their practice or career. Activities should lead to clearly articulated learning or career outcomes, goals, or objectives. Common professional development activities are provided below.

How do I apply?

You may only submit one application per intake. Unsuccessful applicants may re-apply with the same project in a different intake. If an applicant is unsuccessful twice with the same project, the application and proposed activity must be substantively changed. You can receive only one Professional Development grant per BC Arts Council fiscal year (April to March).

British Columbia Arts Council - Individual Arts Grants - Professional Performing Artists

Who is eligible?

Individual Arts Grants: Professional Performing Artists supports initiatives in the development, creation, production, realization, dissemination or live performance of classical, experimental, original, traditional and contemporary performing art forms from all world cultures. Performing arts includes dance, music, theatre, multidisciplinary, or other performing arts practices such as circus arts and comedy.

Music BC - Artist Travel Grant

How Much?

$2,500 for domestic showcase

Who is eligible?

Applicants that are limited companies, partnerships or sole proprietorships must be registered BC businesses whose majority ownership must be held by BC residents (having resided in BC for at least 200 of the 365 days immediately preceding the date of application) who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada. Music BC reserves the right to request proof of residency and citizenship. Company must have been in operation for at least 2 years or has key personnel with a minimum of two years’ experience.

How do I apply?

Applications must be received on or before the deadline AND prior to the initiative taking place.

Saskatchewan

Who is eligible?

Applicants from all the live performing arts and music sectors supported by Creative Saskatchewan are eligible to apply for this grant.

How do I apply?

Supports music tours of at least six live public performances, in multiple cities with limited breaks, with performance fees being collected.

Who is eligible?

The Winnipeg Arts Council recognizes the individual artist as the primary source of creative activity in all artistic disciplines. The Individual Artist Grant Program is intended to support the creation of new work in any art form, or the development, production, curation, or exhibition of works of art by Winnipeg artists.

Winnipeg Arts Council - Professional Research & Development Grant

How Much?

Grants are awarded in fixed amounts of $500, $750, $1,000, or $1,500. Applicants may seek up to 50% of the total eligible costs from WAC. Grants of $1,500 will normally not be considered for activities taking place in North America, and partial funding may be recommended.

Who is eligible?

This grant program is intended to provide partial support to artists, arts administrators, or arts educators for activities that contribute to their professional development and enhance their careers in the arts. Such activities may include unique opportunities for short-term study (beyond basic training) in a formal or informal setting, mentorships, or master classes.

There is no set deadline for this grant program. Applications will be received throughout the year at least four weeks prior to the start of the proposed activity, as funds are available.

 

Manitoba Film and Music - Recording Artist Touring and Online Concert Support Program

How Much?

Financial participation may be up to 50% of tour costs (travel, accommodation, rentals, etc.) to a maximum of $15,000 per fiscal year (April 1st – March 31st)

Who is eligible?

The applicant must be an artist who is a Manitoba resident. The contact person can be a representative of the artist (e.g., manager, label, grant writer).

How do I apply?

All applications must be emailed to music@mbfilmmusic.ca prior to the commencement of the tour or online concerts.

Fully completed applications must be submitted to Manitoba Film & Music prior to the commencement of the proposed online concert, or live concert tour or before costs are incurred to be eligible

Northwest Territories

Northwest Territories Arts Council

Yukon Territory

Department of Tourism and Culture, Yukon - Touring Artist Fund

Up to $10,000 towards eligible expenses.

Who is eligible?

  • Yukon artists, ensembles, or artistic companies who create, produce or interpret art in theatre, dance, music, visual art, film, storytelling or a combination of art forms.
  • You must have lived in the Yukon for 1 continuous year before applying.
  • Ensembles must have a history of performing together.

How do I apply?

 

  • have a firm invitation from a venue, resulting from a professional selection process. This can be things like merit-based selection by jury, curator or artistic committee;
  • tour outside of the Yukon, within the Yukon;
  • have more than 1 event on the tour; and
  • present your art to the public.

Nunavut

How Much?

a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $35,000 is available per project (per annum, if applicable).

Who is eligible?

Artists or Artist groups are eligible for Schedule B.

How do I apply?

Acquire an application form from the Department of Economic Development and Transportation. These can be found online at www.gov.nu.ca/edt or at your regional EDT office. The application form is a simple request for information to ensure that your proposal includes all of the required information. Completed application forms should be sent to your regional EDT office.

Deadlines

 April 15th, August 15th (if funding is available), and December 15th (if funding is available).

Applications received after the April 15th and August 15th deadline dates may be deferred to the next application deadline.
