David Prowse has been lucky enough to spend the last 20 years working in music. In a past life, he was one half of the band Japandroids. Japandroids played over 600 shows in 50 different countries, including festivals such as Coachella, Primavera, Governor's Ball, and Pitchfork Festival. They were nominated for multiple Juno Awards, and (mostly) had very nice things written about them by publications such as Exclaim, Stereogum, the New York Times, and Pitchfork. When Japandroids decided to call it quits, he transitioned to his new role as a promoter. He spent two years as a talent buyer with MRG Live before moving to his current position as Director of Programming at the Rickshaw Theatre in the summer of 2024.
