I work as an independent graphic designer, mostly doing projects within the music industry. I have been self employed for over ten years designed over 200 album covers and do artwork for music festival gig posters and promo materials for artists.

Jadyn Klassen
I’m a multidisciplinary designer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, providing brand development, graphic design, animation, web design, and working in cultural fields, packaging, publishing and various other mediums. I’ve been lucky to be involved in all kinds of fun stuff, to work for a super diverse array of clients which has taught me so much and helped my business to grow in so many ways.

What is success for your organization in the coming year?
Roberta: Over the years I have won many awards and had a stable income that I am satisfied with. The other metric I measure success by is freedom. At this point in my life the most valuable thing in my life is my sons childhood — having the freedom and flexibility to spend these years enjoying him is how I define success these days.
Jadyn: Helping people fulfill their dreams through solving problems in making interesting design
What are you currently excited about in the music industry?
Roberta: I have always thought that Winnipeg has a really special scene— there is a real sense of community and collaboration here. It’s always been across genres and generations and it’s really fun to watch as new connections are made.
Jadyn: Some really interesting young local bands coming up, which makes me excited for the future young generation coming up.
What is the greatest challenge you face currently, and how can other industry and artists partners help?
Roberta: Currently my greatest challenge is finding a good work life balance. This is the eternal self employed struggle.
Jadyn: Time management is always a tricky one! That’s on me.
Can you give a shout out to an artist or industry member who is also doing great things?
Roberta: My husband and his team at birthday cake are doing amazing things. They centre the artist and are truly loving their mission to raise up the whole community Jadyn: My partner in crime with BOW Roberta Landreth is always doing awesome stuff. And our studiomate Nick Luchak always inspires me with his animation work.
