Bold yet vulnerable, as if wearing nothing but a pair of rubber boots and a mischievous smile, Jocelyne Baribeau presents music that reflects both the sweet and the salty sides of life. Her songs are vivid slices of lived experience, moments of joy and excess, reflections on sadness and misfortune, shaping a musical universe that is heartfelt, off beat and deeply human. With pure, luminous vocals, she carries audiences through sparkling ditties and tender ballads rooted in a subtle blend of folk and pop country. On stage, her presence is genuine and dynamic, her lyrics delivered with honesty, maturity and often a knowing wink.
Since the release of her debut EP Petits papiers in 2014, Jocelyne’s career has been marked by critical recognition. In 2016, she received the Francophone Artist of the Year award at the Western Canadian Music Awards, alongside nominations for Female Artist of the Year at the Québec Country Gala and SOCAN Song of the Year for her single “François”.
In 2019, she co founded Beauséjour, a folk country project that toured Canada from coast to coast and earned 13 nominations across major Canadian industry awards, winning two Willie Awards in 2020.
Continuing her creative momentum, Jocelyne released her second solo EP Portraits Volume 2 in 2022 and toured extensively across Western Canada. She now returns with a new full length album and live show titled 200 acres, set for release in February 2026, marking a new chapter in the journey of this Franco Manitoban artist.
