Maclayne is a Calgary- and Toronto-based independent singer-songwriter whose music is as fun and hooky as it is profound and powerful. A natural storyteller with a gift for connecting deeply with her audience, she blends folk and pop into a dynamic sound marked by heartfelt lyricism and a voice of striking warmth and character.
Her debut album, Off The Deep End, was named one of the best releases to come out of Calgary in 2024 by CBC Calgary and The Calgary Herald, which praised it as “a personal and riveting pop album about transformation.” The album received regular airplay on CKUA, charted on college radio stations across Canada, and led to multiple media features, including three features in The Calgary Herald, coverage by Create Calgary, and interviews on CBC Calgary and CBC Edmonton.
Maclayne has been nominated for three YYC (Calgary) Music Awards – Best Pop Record, Emerging Artist, and Best Inspirational Record – winning one award. She has amassed over 70,000 streams across platforms and a growing audience of 6,000+ followers, and has performed sold-out headlining shows in Calgary two years in a row. She has also appeared as part of Hugh’s Room’s Discoveries Series in Toronto.
She was an invited participant in Canada’s Music Incubator’s AE West program and was selected as one of 15 showcasing artists nationally for OSAC (2025). Maclayne is currently in the studio in Toronto recording her sophomore album with Juno and Latin Grammy Award–winning producer James Bryan (Nelly Furtado, Prozzäk).
