1. What is the coolest show you have ever played?
Wacken 2023: Wacken is the biggest metal festival on the planet, it’s in Germany, and coincidentally it’s on my birthday. It’s always a pleasure to shred in front of tens of thousands of fans, and they were kind enough to set up a jetski course in the artist area for me to rip around on! Also, I swear to god totally not joking, they had amazing bidet toilets in the artist area.
2. How do you keep yourself healthy and happy working in music?
We try to sneak in some jetskiing at least once a tour. Luckily we are big in Florida and have some awesome friends at the Pensacola Hooters so it’s always a party. But just don’t take it too seriously.
3. What is the biggest challenge you’ve experienced in getting to where you are?
The music industry is a disaster and AI is ruining everything. The best decision we ever made was going independent so we have no corporate overlords sucking us dry. Everyone is gatekeeping what little power they have left over their own little fiefdoms and trying to own your soul, and we said hell no to all that. Do your own thing and have fun.
4. What is the best part of your life that isn’t music-related?
Definitely jetskis
5. What is the best advice you have been given in the music business?
Well we are all so old now that none of the advice we were ever given makes any sense. Back in my day, you could order a jetski through a magazine for 250$. Kids these days don’t even know what a magazine is! I’d say just have fun with it though, we all know there’s nothing else in it these days.
