Back to Live Featured Industry - The Good Will Social Club

The Good Will is a venue and bar located in Winnipeg Manitoba. It is a place of music, arts, and community. We hope people of all genders, abilities, ages, cultures and sexualities feel welcome at The Good Will Social Club. When we opened our doors 7 years ago, we never anticipated the impact the space would have on the city. The Good Will was established to be a place of great music and culture, but what it became was so much more.

How are you preparing for the return of the live music industry?

We have been booking much of October and have a full November. There have been some challenges working with in the provincial guidelines, but ensuring our staff and friends are safe, it all worth the hoops. We've added a new talent booker and cut down on our hours of operation to focus on quality shows and entertainment.

What are you currently excited about in the music industry?

Most people are excited to get back into spaces and see live music. having acts take our stage for the first time in almost 2 years was pretty damn exciting.

What is the greatest challenge you face currently, and how can other industry and artists partners help?

Capacity is the main challenge, we aren't able to pack the space the same way we used to. However, through sponsorships and co productions we are able to share some of the costs that would normally be covered by a full building.

Can you give a shout out to an artist or industry member who is also doing great things in Manitoba?

All of our partners are doing great things to name a few; Half Pints, Kilter, LBJ, Barn Hammer. In terms of artists or productions... House of Wonders and Real Love. Artists/Shows; Amos the Kid, PopTart, Living Hour, the list can go on and on and on.
