How are you preparing for the return of the live music industry?

We are preparing to present a hybrid live music festival in January-February, 2022. It will be smaller than our pre-pandemic festival, as we will have less audience and therefore less revenue. We believe the return of the live music industry will be (or should be) slow and cautious.

What are you currently excited about in the music industry?

Not so much excited, but cautiously optimistic that the industry will return to a new version of its former self.

What is the greatest challenge you face currently, and how can other industry and artists partners help?

Our greatest challenge is lack of suitable venues. This is a symptom mostly of the City not supporting the arts the same way they support sports. Not sure anyone outside can help with this.

Can you give a shout out to an artist or industry member who is also doing great things in Manitoba?

I think all not-for-profit live music presenters are doing fabulous things to present live music as much as possible, and switching to the video format in order to keep funds flowing to musicians.
