JayWood

BOW2021_BTL_artistprofile_JAYWOOD.jpg

JayWood is Jeremy Haywood-Smith from Winnipeg MB What started as bedroom "sad jangle pop songs" just singing about how sad or miserable he was, things slowly started to change as time went on (both style and direction wise) into the more "psych funk" sound that is shown today! JayWood carries a unique sound that has been entirely self-taught, and manages to combine indie-pop with jazz chords and a psychedelic feel. His music is heart-felt and therapeutic at its core, but hosts a feel-good dance party at live performances. "Electronic groove has shone brightly on JayWood, illuminating the multi-faceted sound with lightning bolts of funk, psych-rock and pop. Comfortable within these jumbled spaces, JayWood’s rhythm is ever-changing, but always consistently emerging triumphant!" - BIG FUN His musical style is a blend of a handful of different genres ranging from: Funk, Indie pop, Jangle Jazz, Hip-Hop, Psych Rock, Shoegaze, etc.

Since forming in 2011, Mobina Galore have cut their teeth on an approach to music that operates without fluff. Now three albums into their decade long career, each album continues the band’s signature of crafting unapologetically heavy and wildly dynamic songs that explore life’s peaks and valleys. They have been nominated twice for Rock Artist at the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards and reached #1 on several Earshot! charts over the years. With a focus on touring, Mobina Galore have gained a reputable following in Europe and continue to push their music in that direction with the help of their German label, Gunner Records. They are also a New Damage Records artist for all other worldwide distribution. Mobina Galore has had many significant support tours including Against Me!, Propagandhi, Pennywise and Laura Jane Grace.
