Featured Organization - Amigos Cantina
Amigos Cantina opened it's doors in November of 1988, making 2023 our 35th Anniversary as a live music venue and Tex-Mex restaurant in Saskatoon. Their very proud to be a part of the vibrant Saskatoon arts community. Along with the thousands of bands who have graced the Amigos stage over the years, the walls of Amigos have also served as an art gallery of sorts for countless local artists, many of whom are also local musicians. Amigos is very community-minded, and they strive to make their space welcoming to everyone. In particular, Amigos has always put a strong emphasis on being an artist-friendly venue.

What is success for your organization in the coming year?
We are constantly looking at ways we can be better community partners. Success to us has always meant building relationships with the community where we work and play.
What are you currently excited about in the music industry?
Amigos is excited to be a small part of helping to rebuild our industry post-pandemic. There's a lot of work to be done, but we're excited for the challenge!
What is the greatest challenge you face currently, and how can other industry and artists partners help?
The rising cost of living is our biggest challenge. I think the industry is pulling together to try and weather this storm as best as possible. Government certainly has a role to play in recognizing that artists are workers too, and as we saw during the pandemic, play a vital role in our society.
Can you give a shout out to an artist or industry member who is also doing great things?
CFCR 90.5FM has always played a critical role in the Saskatoon arts community. In today's media environment, conventional radio stations can sometimes be taken for granted. CFCR have always been huge champions of local artists. Support community radio!
