What is success for your organization in the coming year?

We're focused on growing our streaming numbers on DSPs and Youtube, building out the synch component of our business, and, most importantly, helping artists achieve their dreams!

What are you currently excited about in the music industry?

I mean, honestly, NFTs are extremely exciting. I love the promise of a decentralized music economy actually owned and run by artists and fans. And the possibility of fans sharing equity in creative content is super cool.

What is the greatest challenge you face currently, and how can other industry and artists partners help?

Honestly - getting the mainstream music industry to pay attention to BIPOC artists and narratives. This is a problem across the globe - but especially here in Canada. I'm still blown away by the fact that the CBC doesn't have a show devoted to South Asian music. Canadian-born South Asian artists are blowing up globally right now and, as usual, we're the last to the party.

Can you give a shout-out to an artist or industry member who is also doing great things?

I love what ADVANCE is doing. I applaud all of the organizations across the country dedicating real energy to disrupting and dismantling white supremacy.
