Marissa Burwell

Marissa Burwell is an indie act from the heart of Saskatchewan, known best for her captivating yet endearing performances. Her debut self-titled EP was released in 2019 creating a buzz that allowed appearances at international festivals including Reeperbahn, Liverpool Sound City, and Breakout West. And now, on the heels of her self-titled EP, Burwell remerges as a fully realized artist. Burwell’s debut full-length album, Bittersweet is set to release in January of 2022. Bittersweet demonstrates remarkable growth, both as a songwriter and with her sonic palette. Her warm, summery voice and wry wit remain but beneath its indie-folk exterior the album is adorned with lush keys, warm synth passages, and subtle drum programming. Lyrically it is her most personal work, full of images of dinner parties, church, gardens and dads with wandering hands. “I’m 22 and I’m sitting in my room and I don’t know what to do with myself,” she sings on Trying To Help. Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan she writes one eye focused on childhood, the other gazing toward a hopeful future, and both feet planted firmly in the snow.

MELODNA

MELODNA (mel•o•d•na), is an emerging indie artist. Writing her first song at 5 years old, Melodna knew that music would be a constant in her life. Growing in the respected shadow of her musically inclined father, her early years were writing songs, poetry, and singing her heart out anywhere she could. Living in the prairies, MELODNA spent her life keeping her love for music to herself and those it may concern. "There was never a comfortable progressing environment to expand on my music ability within the community." Relying on music for the sole purpose of self healing, MELODNA trained herself to fully let go on a piece of paper. Becoming a single mom at 22 years old, she shifted her purpose of music from a way to vent and move past her burdens, to now exposing her inner most emotions to the entire public. MELODNA is proud to call herself a Christian, and there's no doubt that her moral compass and foundation in life is built around that. Growing as an artist, she has devoted substantial focus to speaking out on social injustices. As 1/3 hosts of "Let's Talk About It," she has since made it her mission to call out any and all social injustices around her or experienced by her, striving to leave her community in better shape than she found it. "If anything I'm good at, whether it's singing or speaking, can make one persons world a better place, I'm gonna do that."

RUMPUS

Rumpus_web.jpg

Rumpus, by definition, does in fact bring the noise - and the bodies - to dancefloors and music festivals around the globe. A badass drummer with a punk-rock upbringing, Rumpus infuses that alternative edge into his own unique brand of high vibe, bass heavy, funky house music. Powered by live drums and one-of-a-kind productions, Rumpus’s eclectic style has been flexing speakers on an international scale, with recent appearances at major festivals including Shambhala, Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and Shipsomnia in Ibiza. His visually captivating, high-energy live shows are favourites among freaky festival folk and are even known to turn electronic music's skeptics into fast fans.
His releases include music on Insomniac Records, Westwood Recordings & Australia’s ‘Sweat it Out’ Club Sweat label, as well as recent collaborations with Volac, Smalltown DJs, and Neon Steve to name a few. With a feature in DJ Mag North America where Rumpus was named one of "12 Emerging Acts to hear this September", and receiving the award for Saskatchewan 2019 Electronic Artist Of The Year, 2019 has proven to be a career defining year for the cutting edge producer, drummer and DJ.
